About Us

Family Worker Training + Development Programme Inc. was formed and funded in 1984 to train Family Workers to enable them to work with families. There was little formal training available.
Through consultation with Co-ordinators of Family Support Services, a variety of workshops were organised and this practice has not only continued but we now offer a much wider range of Learning and Development opportunities for workers across Western Sydney.
FWT+DP currently receives funding from the Department of Community Services for the following projects:
- CSGP (Community Services Grants Programme)
- Families NSW
- Better Futures
- ACYFS (Aboriginal Child, Youth and Family Strategy)
Family Worker Training + Development Programme Inc. is and has been managed by a Management Committee since it’s inception in 1984. This is in accordance with the constitution.
The Management Committee is formed from within the membership. Members are workers from services who are working with families and their dependant children.
The Manager of FWT+DP reports to the committee on a regular basis at their bi-monthly meetings.
Currently there are six members, although the constitution allows for nine.
